Michelle Bartell oversees ASB’s community outreach efforts, including charitable giving, volunteerism, and community and government relations. She develops initiatives and leads projects that provide opportunities for ASB teammates to give back to the community, such as Bank for Education, Seeds of Service, and the Kahiau Giving Program. Michelle was part of the team that developed the bank’s successful KeikiCo Contest, a biennial business plan competition for Hawaii’s K-12 students, which launched in 2015.
Prior to joining ASB, Michelle worked in nonprofit fund development, including seven years as Director of Development for Montessori Community School and as a consultant for The Women’s Fund of Hawaii. Early in her career, Michelle worked in marketing and advertising at leading agencies in Hawaii and the Bay Area.
Michelle graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and studied abroad at Richmond College’s campus in Florence, Italy. An active member of the community and passionate believer in the lifelong importance of education, she currently serves on the Advisory Board of Chaminade University’s Hogan Entrepreneurs Program. Her board service includes Child & Family Service Guild (Chair), Family Promise of Hawaii (President), HANO, and Catholic Charities Hawaii.
