County of Maui – Updates and Resources:
Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. (MEO): Hawaii State Maui Relief Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), may provide up to four months of for families directly affected by the Maui fires. For more information or to apply online, click here.

Crisis Counseling Services
- Free, confidential 24/7 crisis counseling services available to wildfire survivors – call Hawaiʻi Cares toll free at 800-753-6879 or dial or text Hawaiʻi Cares using the 3-digit calling code 988.
Disaster Distress Helpline:
- Disaster Distress Helpline – call or text 1-800-985-5990 (for Spanish, press “2”) to be connected to a trained counselor 24/7/365
Unemployment Benefits:
- If your employment, including self-employment, was lost or interrupted due to the fires, visit hawaii.gov or call 808-984-8400 to apply for unemployment insurance benefits
- Additional unemployment benefits related to the disaster are provided by the federal government for those individuals who do not qualify for the state’s unemployment insurance program. For more information on the federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance program, including benefit levels, visit doleta.gov/unemploy/disaster.asp
