Mary Jane Program

Mary Jane Program

The Mary Jane Program offers pregnant women, their partners, and their families a variety of services to assist with an unplanned pregnancy. The goal of the Mary Jane Program is to help people make the best decision for themselves, the child, and the challenges of living with their decision.

Residential Services

When women find themselves unexpectedly pregnant and have nowhere to go, the Mary Jane Program can provide a safe haven for them during their pregnancy and for a short time after the delivery of their baby. The Mary Jane Home can house up to six pregnant women 18 and older.

Mary Jane Program

When women come to the Mary Jane Home, they are vulnerable and usually do not have the resources they need or an adequate support system. They need a safe place to stay, access to medical care, proper nutrition, and support to prepare for the delivery and care of the child.

Educational classes and counseling are provided to all residents.

  • Pregnancy counseling
  • Prenatal and infant care
  • Labor, birth, and parenting classes
  • Life skills – decision making, budgeting, money management, and goal setting
  • Relationship building sessions
  • Health care and nutrition
  • Cooking and crafts
  • Mentoring
  • Birth coaches (doulas)
  • Adoption counseling and services

The educational and supportive services the mothers receive from the Mary Jane Program prepare them to provide responsible care for their child and provide them with the skills necessary to return to the community and be self-sufficient. The Mary Jane Program also offers follow-up services to former residents, their partners, and their families after the residents leave the Mary Jane Home.
