The Men’s March Against Violence is a unique and effective way for men to “Dispel the Myths about Domestic Violence” and respond to this critical issue in Hawai‘i through education and public exposure. Since most violence is perpetrated by men against women and children, this event is a chance for men to take a stand and say “no” to violent behavior and help eliminate domestic violence in our families, neighborhoods, and schools.

Catholic Charities Hawai‘i's Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center will receive a $10,000 grant through the Weinberg Foundation Service Project coordinated by the Kalakaua Lion’s Club with help from the Pearl City Lion’s Club and the Kamehameha Lion’s Club.
Friends of Hawai‘i Charities, Inc. recently awarded a grant of $2,600 to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i. The grant will benefit the Mary Jane Program which provides services and support to women experiencing unplanned pregnancies with nowhere else to go.
Catholic Charities Hawai‘i (CCH) will host the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) check presentation from Mayor Mufi Hannemann at the future CCH Program Center building. In 2006, the City & County of Honolulu awarded $2.0 million in CDBG funds to CCH to support its acquisition of property in Makiki, which will provide a permanent home for the organization. Mayor Hannemann will present the CDBG check to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i during a special check presentation on May 16 at 10:00 a.m. The presentation will be held at 1822 Ke‘eaumoku Street.
