Programs
Catholic Charities Hawai'i's programs address the following community social and behavioral areas of need:
Counseling and services for children who are victims of abuse and/or neglect. The programs provide in-home visiting, parenting classes, case management, supervised visitation, family counseling, child sex abuse treatment, recruiting, assessing, training, and licensing foster homes, foster family care, parent-child reunification, and adoption services.
Housing assistance for people who are homeless or unsheltered. Services are offered to help people become self-sufficient and move into or maintain affordable permanent housing. The programs provide transitional housing, housing placement, counseling, financial and material assistance, case management, employment training, and education classes.
Therapy and treatment for children and youth experiencing emotional and behavioral problems. Services are provided through programs focusing on counseling, group home, and foster home care.
Assistance and education for women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and sexual abstinence education for school students. Programs are available in pregnancy prevention education for middle and high school students. Case management, counseling, a residential group home for adult pregnant women, foster homes for pregnant teens, child-birth and parenting education classes, and adoption services are also available.
Services and counseling for adult victims and perpetrators of sexual and domestic violence. Programs are offered for sex offender relapse prevention, domestic violence, group counseling, community awareness and training, and victim assistance.
Acculturation, immigration, and resettlement services for immigrants and refugees to empower them to play a significant role in their own self-determination. The programs provide services for interpretation and translation, refugee resettlement, citizenship assistance and classes, English language classes, and employment training and placement.
Services and aid for people who are having difficulties adjusting to life's challenges. Counseling, case management, emergency financial and material assistance, and referrals to other programs are provided.
Programs and services for seniors and persons with developmental disabilities to help maintain their independence in the community and prevent premature institutionalization. The programs provide supportive services to maintain dignity and advocate for social justice. Services include case management, money management, foster homes, transportation, chores and housekeeping, affordable housing, respite for caregivers, socialization, and volunteer opportunities.
