Annual Men's March Against Violence
Over 1,000 people came out to participate in the 22nd Annual Men’s March Against Violence in downtown Honolulu on October 13.
This year’s theme “Find Your Voice,” brought the community together to raise awareness about domestic violence and reminds us about the many individuals, victims and survivors affected. Each year in Hawaii, 50,000 women between the ages of 18 and 64 are victims of domestic violence.
Men of all ages took part in the march that began at the State Capitol and ended at Skygate Park at Honolulu Hale. The rally featuring several guest speakers paid tribute to those who lost their lives to domestic violence.
Mahalo to all who participated and to the event sponsors: Kaiser Permanente, Central Pacific Bank and the University of Hawaii System and community partners who made this event possible including the Domestic Violence Action Center, Parents And Children Together (PACT), PHOCUSED, Kapi’olani Community College, Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the City & County of Honolulu and Catholic Charities Hawai‘i.
