Outreach Worker #17-52

FATS/CCSS, Full-time, Oahu

The paraprofessional Outreach Worker’s objective is to optimize the home environment for the physical and mental well-being and safety of the children who have been or are at risk of being abused/neglected.  This is achieved by building on family strengths and empowering parents.  Emphasis is on home and supervised visits in which parent-child relationships are explored and positive parenting skills are taught with the goal of parents incorporating these skills into their behavior.  The Outreach Worker must demonstrate an active commitment to Catholic Charities Mission and strives to incorporate the four Core Values in all aspects of daily work.

EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:  Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in social work or related field.  No work experience required.  A safe, responsible, and clean driving record for the past year.  Experience working with children in the child welfare services field desired.  Knowledge of CWS policies and procedures is preferred.  Must be able to work a non-traditional work schedule.

EMPLOYMENT CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:  Applicable background checks; CAN clearance, HI State criminal check, TB clearance, educational verification, valid driver’s license, copy of no-fault automobile insurance, traffic abstract, and access to insured vehicle are required post job offer.
